We have a wonderful band playing this weekend…Saturday April 21 at the Museum Café, home of the Nature Coast Friends of Blues at 10466 W. Yulee Drive in Homosassa. Sno Rogers performs at 3:00, and at 2:00 Tom Ellis and Friends will open the show. Prior to the show the Nature Coast Friends of Blues will present a check to Sheri Chancey of Big Brothers Big Sisters from the proceeds of 2012 TEENSTOCKSno Rogers is a non-traditional bluegrass band that is highly entertaining with wonderful harmonies, great musicianship and just plain fun! I first saw them about 15 years ago while living in Tampa and found them living up in this neck of the woods a couple of months ago. Tom Ellis, our sound man will open the show and will likely have some help from his sister and her husband…all of them accomplished musicians. The Nature Coast Friends of Blues mixes up the music during our Live Music Series to appeal to other music genres you might enjoy. Rain or shine we will get things going at 2:00.I need a couple of volunteers for Saturday. I fractured my left ankle at TEENSTOCK, so I will be at the gate. I need someone to introduce the performers and someone to keep me company at the door. Please let me know if you can help!

BACK FROM THE 2011 BLUES’N BAR-B-QUE IS THE PITBULL OF THE BLUES BAND, LOCAL FAVORITE PAST TENSE WITH NEIL SHAW AND TEEN SENSATIONS THE HIGH COTTON STRIDERS WITH ZAYNE AND TRISTAN. THIS WILL BE A WONDERFLUL DAY OF MUSIC TO RAISE FUNDS TO HELP A DEAR BLUES FRIEND IN NEED.

The event is “Meet the Artist” with Jeannette Berndsen, Modern Impressionist painter. Quite a few of you know Jeannette and her magnetic personality! Time is 6:30pm.

I have booked a craft show for April 21st and 22nd for the arts and crafts fesival in Dunnellon Historic District called Dunnellon Boomtown Days. There is going to be 125 crafters and antique cars, along with entertainment and I’m sure lots and lots of food. You will learn the history of the Woman’s Movement that started over 100 years ago.
From the Sarasota area, Singer/Songwriter Mindy Simmons will entertain with her popular Jazz, Blues and Folk style.

Patchwork from Ocala will also share their songs and harmonies highlighting their songs of women and their triumphs.
